How do you photocopy a black and white image to BLACK PAPER?
I need to get a sketch on white paper to photocopy onto black paper... it's part of an assignment for my Lighting Design class. We then must use colored pencils to draw on top of the image on the black paper.
My question is... how the hell am I going to get the sketch to be visible on black paper using a photocopier?
A (non-color) photocopier is only able to "print" dark (black). It does this by depositing black toner on the paper and then using a electrical process to "fuse" it to the paper. Areas without toner will appear as white on white paper. But, alas, they will be black on black paper (and blue on blue paper, yellow on yellow paper, etc.).
What you will end up with, however, is black toner on the black paper. In the right light, you will be able to distinguish between places where there was toner and where it's raw paper. Then, since the assignment is to color on the black paper, you'll know where to color.
