Design Choice
Is game design a good career choice with lots of oppurtunities?
I see the majority of gamers going into this field or something like it. To me it seems there will be a lot of competition and job openings will be low.
As well as the chances of actually making a well noted game.
So would this be a good career/ major choice? Or should I do something more reasonable?
Taking into consideration the way the economy is going, I would suggest getting into something that people will always need. Like they say, 2 things are for certain in life, death and taxes. I hate numbers, so I've decided to become an embalmer. And hey, if people decided embalming is too expensive, I'll just start cremating.
So yeah, I would get into a field that will always be needed, like health care. Gaming is a bit frivolous. Also, there's been so many different games made, it's going to be hard to make something that hasn't already been done before. I am sick of MMO's for that reason. They are all the same. But then again, you have to do what you love. It's just something to take into consideration.
